Today’s Scripture
And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
Genesis 22:8-12
Today’s Thought
The only reason God wants you to sacrifice something is because it’s the only place of true exchange for what He has already given up to give you. Abraham gave up Isaac because God already gave up Jesus. Covenants are what multiply your life, but they cost you something up front.
Today’s Confession
Lord, help me to understand the power of sacrifice and covenant in my life. Just as Abraham was willing to give up his son, help me to trust that what I surrender to You is exchanged for something far greater, knowing that You gave up Your Son for me. May I honor You with my obedience, trusting in the multiplication of Your blessings.
