Today’s Scripture:
From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”). When some of those standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling Elijah.” Immediately one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said, “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to save him.” And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
Matthew 27:45-50
Today’s Thought
Jesus experienced the most painful moment on the cross not from the nails or the crown of thorns, but in the silence—when God turned His back so He would never have to turn His back on you. In your silent seasons, when you can't feel God's presence and don't hear His voice, remember: He allowed Jesus to experience abandonment so you would never truly be alone. The silence doesn't mean God has left; it means He's working behind the scenes. When it gets silent, you get loud. Declare what's been written. Prophesy your future. Your loudest praise should come in your quietest season. God hasn't forgotten you—He's positioning you for breakthrough.
Today’s Question
Where are you experiencing silence? Remember today that it’s not abandonment. Take a few moments and focus on God to realize how He’s moving in your life.
