Today’s Scripture
And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
Genesis 22:8-12
Today’s Thought
The only reason God wants you to sacrifice something is because it’s the only place of true exchange for what he has already given up to give you. Abraham gave up Isaac because God already gave up Jesus. Covenants are what multiply your life, but they cost you something up front.
Today’s Confession
I am willing to trust God and surrender whatever He asks of me, knowing that true sacrifice leads to divine exchange. Just as Abraham gave up Isaac, I will not withhold anything from God, understanding that He has already given His Son for me. I embrace the covenant with God, knowing that it multiplies my life in ways I cannot yet see.
