Today’s Scriptures

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight... and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith...

Hebrews 12:1-2 KJV

Today’s Thought

Life is not a short sprint; it is a marathon. There will be family demands, work pressure, financial decisions, emotional battles, and unexpected situations. If you are not careful, the pressure of life can wear you down and cause you to lose sight of your purpose.

Hebrews tells us to lay aside every weight and look unto Jesus. Some things may not be sinful, but they are still heavy. They distract, drain, and pull your attention away from the race God marked out for you. Refocusing means asking, “Is this helping me run, or is this weighing me down?”

Today’s Question

What weight do you need to lay aside so you can run your race with passion and determination? Ask God to show you what has been slowing you down, and choose to fix your gaze on Jesus again.
