Celebrate Milestones
It’s been ten weeks, and I’m down 20 pounds and 20 inches. That’s a milestone for me and worth celebrating!
I was thinking today about the difference between goals and milestones.
Goals are something you make. Milestones are something you reach.
I’ve had lots of goals over the past ten weeks. A certain number on the scale, an amount of weight I wanted to achieve in my workouts, a pair of jeans I wanted to fit into that I haven’t been able to wear in three years.
I’ve been able to meet every single one of those goals during this journey. Each of those goals added up to today’s milestone. A significant moment of achievement.
Goals are important. And every met goal gets you closer to a milestone, a significant moment where you look back at where you were and then recognize how far you’ve come!
I want to encourage you to pause for a minute and think about what milestone you’ve achieved today!
Maybe you’ve been clean from addiction for a year. Maybe you haven’t been depressed in three months. Maybe you haven’t gotten frustrated with your kids in six weeks. Maybe you’ve been able to successfully maintain your budget.
Whatever your milestone is, recognize it and celebrate it!
Do something special to show yourself that you’re proud of you!
I was gonna buy myself a new pair of jeans, but then I realized I don’t have to because my favorite pair fit me again. So maybe I’ll eat some mint chocolate chip ice cream instead!
Celebrate you today! You are worth it!
