You Can Do Hard Things
Every six weeks I get a new workout plan. Just when I get comfortable and think I’m killing it there is something new on my calendar.
Today I looked at my new workout and my first thought was “what the heck is this?” (Which is actually what I think every time) followed by “I cannot do this!”
2 Supersets of 5 exercises, 15 reps and 5 sets of each.
30 minutes into my workout and I hadn’t even finished the first superset.
I thought, “ I really can’t do 5 sets of these. It’s ok if I just do 4 today right? I know I’m supposed to do 15 reps of these things but I can just do 10 right? @donald.strange won’t care if I cheat it a little right? It’s the first week of doing these. I can just work my way up to doing the whole thing.”
But then another thought popped into my mind- “You can do hard things!”
The Bible says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
So I did. I silenced the voices that told me to quit and did every single thing on my plan. Every single rep, every single set.
It wasn’t pretty, I might’ve even cried a little. But I did it.
I want to encourage you today, that maybe you have some hard things in front of you. Maybe you are facing some hard things in your life. Maybe you want to cheat a little. Maybe you want to avoid them. Maybe you just want to quit.
But whatever you are facing today- You can do hard things! Especially if you don’t rely on your strength, but allow God’s strength to carry you through!
You can do every single hard thing that’s in front of you! I believe in you!
