Don't Get Too Comfortable

Six weeks ago, my exercise routine consisted of walking… sometimes. When we started with our trainer I opened my app to see the workouts he assigned to me. My first thought was, “Who in the heck is going to do all of this.” Followed by, “I’m not sure I can do even one of these sets, let alone six!”

But I hit start and did my best. The first week wasn’t pretty. What should have taken me 45 minutes took me over an hour. I was a hot sweaty mess. But I showed up for the rest of the week anyways.

Six weeks later, I thought I was killing the workout game! I actually looked forward to them because I was doing so good.

I opened my app today and my trainer changed it up. There are new workouts in there now.

I was comfortable with the other workouts, but comfortable doesn’t get you maximum results.

So for the next six weeks my goal is to master the new workouts. And just when I feel comfortable, I’m going to add a little weight or do something a little different to change it up.

That made me think, what other areas of my life am I too comfortable in? What can I change up to stretch me to grow?
