Do It Anyway
I have a confession. For the past few weeks I have had NO motivation to work out. Over the past 9 months as I’ve been faithful to my health journey, that has never happened. Even when the workouts were hard, I still did them anyways.
For the past 42 weeks I haven’t missed a workout. Through busy schedules, travel, vacation, hectic chaos, and everything else, I did my three workouts a week. I’ve had to rearrange my schedule, wake up extra early, workout late at night, and no matter what the inconvenience, I made it happen.
Until last week. In between prepping for Easter at church, a home renovation that was way more extensive than I planned for, and the anticipation of a bunch of people at my construction zone house for Easter dinner, I just couldn’t muster up the motivation to do my Friday workout. (Also I didn’t have an extra hour in my weekend to make it happen)
So I did my Friday workout on Monday, and my Monday workout on Wednesday, and I’ll do Wednesday’s workout on Thursday to catch up.
And guess what? I still feel like I have zero motivation to do it. But I’m gonna do it anyway. Until I feel motivated again, I’m just going to push myself out of this mental rut, and make it happen. I’ve come too far to stop now!
Sometimes in life we might lose our motivation. That doesn’t mean we get to quit. It just means we have to push ourselves until we find it again. We might have to fake it ‘til we make it, and that’s ok. Even when we don’t want to, we have to do it anyway!
Don’t allow lack of motivation to be your excuse for stopping what you started. Don’t talk yourself into quitting when you’ve already come so far. Keep going, keep pushing, keep doing what you know to do. It’ll all be worth it in the end!
Do it anyway!
