Be Proud of Yourself
I was proud of myself today! I was doing alternating chest presses, and upped my weight to 25 pound dumbbells. For some of you that’s no big deal, but for me it’s huge! I thought back to a year ago when I could barely do this exercise with 10 pound dumbbells. And I was proud of myself!
I was proud of myself today! For the past 68 weeks I have consistently worked out at least three days a week! I thought about how that is three more days a week than I was working out, and the most consecutive weeks I’ve ever been consistent in my life. And I was proud of myself!
I was proud of myself today! I looked at my progress pictures. A lot of times I look in the mirror and only see the things I still need to work on. When I looked back to where I started, I thought about how far I’ve actually come. And I was proud of myself!
I was proud of myself today! I can be hyper critical of myself. I tend to look at my flaws, failures and mistakes rather than the good things about me. Self improvement is a good thing, and challenging myself to be better isn’t wrong. At the same time, it’s also important to recognize wins accomplishments and progress.
You try it! Fill in the blanks and say this to yourself today!
