Take Correction
We don’t live in the same city as our trainer. For the past nine months we have trained virtually. We send progress pictures, and take measurements and our trainer gives us workouts and eating plans to help us reach our goals. It’s been working great!
Last week we happened to be in the same place as our trainer so we got to have a couple of in person workouts with him.
It can be daunting to have someone watching what you are doing. I kind of hoped he would focus on working with my husband (who is a total beast) and not really pay very much attention to me.
Nope! The first set I did, he came over and made some changes. Throughout the workout he gave me additional corrections about my form, or added things that would give me better results.
Don’t be afraid to take correction. In fact seek it out. Corrections make you better.
Corrections take you from okay to good, and from good to great.
This doesn’t just apply to working out. It applies to every area of life. I take my books to my accountant and ask him to check them to make sure I’m doing everything right. When I’m working on a writing project I give it to my friends who are authors and ask for feedback.
Find someone who does something better than you and ask them if they have any corrections for you. Don’t get offended if they do. Take the corrections and learn from them. They only make you better!
